Materials
Ductile iron body with a machined and lapped sole, brass depth adjuster and an adjustable mouth plate. Blade is O1 tool steel, bedded at twelve degrees.
Care
Hone the iron before the first cut — it arrives ground flat, not sharpened. Wipe the sole with a rag and a little oil after use, and lay the plane on its side rather than face down on the bench.
