Materials
Drop-forged steel head at sixteen ounces on an American hickory handle, secured with a wooden wedge and two steel wedges. Overall length three hundred thirty millimetres.
Care
Keep the handle dry and unfinished — varnish makes it slip once your hands are damp. If the head ever loosens, it is the wedge, and a hammer is re-handled rather than replaced.
